Fight for World Domination with Words in New Mobile Game Spelldom - Published on 10/24/15

HangZone's announces Spelldom 1.5 for iOS devices, blurring the lines between the word game and strategy genres. The game blends the word game and strategy game genres in a way that has yet to be attempted in mobile gaming. Players build towns, form teams, and attack other players from around the world by using words. By designing a skill-based attack system around players' word playing abilities, HangZone hopes to counter the pay to win trend that has become commonplace in multiplayer games.

Atlanta, Georgia - HangZone, an Atlanta based mobile gaming company founded by two brothers, is pleased to announce the worldwide release of its third game, Spelldom 1.5, exclusively for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The game, which is free in the App Store, blends the word game and strategy game genres in a way that has yet to be attempted in mobile gaming. Players strategically build their unique towns and attack players from around the world in a quest for global (or at least magical forest) domination!

"It took us almost two years, HangZone Co-Founder Judson Bandy recalls. It has town building. It has team tournaments. It has team chat. You can play the single player campaign or attack players around the world. But you wont be attacking with troops. Youll battle with words.

The attack system is quite unique, but skilled word game players will catch-on quickly. You have a standard rack of seven tiles, just as if you were playing Scrabble. Your first word must cover your opponents Portal, which is the entrance to his town. The brothers liken the ensuing action to a one player Scrabble attack where the board is covered with bombs, fire cauldrons, and other dastardly defenses. You must criss-cross words through your opponents town to overcome defenses and crush his Castle for the win.

When building the game, the brothers were adamant to put an end to the pay to win concept that has overtaken many strategy mobile games. Spelldom is a skill based game, explains brother and Co-Founder Tyler Bandy. You cant just buy your way to the top of the Spelldom leaderboards. Its about knowing words and learning to strategically maneuver around a board. Remember, you arent just dropping barbarians that have a mind of their own, but you must skillfully work your way around by spelling words in order to defeat an opponent.
