Excel Software Adds QuickLicense Support for 64-Bit Linux and Xojo Apps - Published on 12/12/15

Excel Software has simplified QuickLicense protection and licensing of 32-Bit or 64-Bit application software with the release of two companion products, QuickLicenseRT Linux 2.0 and PluginXojoQLRT 2.0. QuickLicenseRT Linux includes 32 and 64-Bit runtime files. PluginXojoQLRT provides a Xojo plugin for 32 and 64-Bit apps on Mac or Windows. Xojo or Linux programmers enjoy a quick, integrated solution for almost any software protection, activation or licensing requirement.

Henderson, Nevada - Excel Software today simplified QuickLicense protection and licensing of 32-Bit or 64-Bit application software with the release of two companion products, QuickLicenseRT Linux 2.0 and PluginXojoQLRT 2.0. Previous versions of QuickLicenseRT Linux and PluginXojoQLRT only supported 32-bit applications.

The new runtime components implement the full QuickLicense 7.0.7 feature set. Xojo or Linux programmers enjoy a quick, integrated solution for almost any software protection, activation or licensing requirement. One software build can support Trial, Product, Try/Buy, Subscription or Floating licenses by dropping in a different license file. The activation process for protected software allows manual activation without Internet access, semi-automated activation through a web browser or fully automated activation through an online activation server.

QuickLicenseRT Linux 2.0 provides 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the QuickLicense runtime file for 32-bit or 64-bit Linux desktop applications. During development, QuickLicense is used to configure all aspects of the software license and output a tiny platform neutral, encrypted Ticket file. That Ticket file is bound to a Linux desktop application with a few lines of programming code that sends commands to the QuickLicenseRT executable.

PluginXojoQLRT 2.0 includes a Xojo plugin to protect and license 32-bit or 64-bit Xojo desktop applications for Mac OS X or Windows. A Xojo developer adds the plugin and calls one function to send any command to the QuickLicense runtime. With Xojo running on either Mac or Windows, generate 32-bit and 64-bit applications for both platforms.

While one license command is sufficient for many applications, the runtime library supports dozens of command strings to access all licensing features available in the QuickLicense system. Runtime commands include license release, restore, reset, suspend, remote enabling of features, field read and write, plus data send and receive through the activation server.

Without writing any software, a developer can configure language specific interfaces for any human language. A configurable License Options panel allows protected software to be securely moved between computers, features to be remotely enabled or time and execution expired licenses to be extended.

QuickLicenseRT Linux and PluginXojoQLRT are part of the Excel Software suite of protection and licensing solutions for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS or Web base software. Computer unique Activation or Subscription Codes for protected applications can be generated with QuickLicense or LicenseSupport. Custom online activation can be automated with Serial Numbers using the Safe Activation service or the self-hosted WebActivation or Desktop License Server products running on a vendor website.

QuickLicenseRT Linux and PluginXojoQLRT support the MakeDongle application for any vendor that wants to generate their own USB dongles for software protection and licensing.

QuickLicenseRT Linux supports 32 and 64-Bit Linux OS distributions including Ubuntu, Debian, OpenSUSE, Fedora, CentOS and Linux Mint. A Single User License at $395 includes royalty-free runtime distribution rights for any number of protected products or licenses. The package includes a User Guide and the SendMessage test application to try all license types and commands without programming.
