Amsterdam, Netherlands - Independent developers, Paul Matthijs Lombert, Roelof de Koning and Boy van Amstel today are proud to announce the release of Hedge for Mac 1.0, their new app which promises stress-free video importing: no more corrupt copies, incomplete backups or lost footage.

Hedge streamlines the process of importing data from cameras. It creates multiple copies simultaneously, and guarantees every file is bit-for-bit perfect. Hedge is designed to reduce time spent on video admin, freeing up creatives for more inspiring work. Flexible subscriptions let the user pay only for what they need, project-by-project or all year round.

Hedge features:
* Creates simultaneous backups to multiple destinations
* Imports files while verifying others, optimizing bandwidth
* Cross-references every copy against its source
* Shows transfers as 'copying' or 'completed' with clear progress indicators
* Auto-launches AppleScripts for extendable workflows (sorting, transcoding, renaming, tagging)
* Supports all regular drives, including REDMAG, Compact Flash, XQD, SxS and P2

"The first seed for Hedge was planted in 2013 while I was working on the Dutch documentary 'Als je me echt zou kennen...'," explained Paul Matthijs, co-founder. "I noticed that the shoot's assistant spent most of his time transferring footage. Thinking this was a waste of talent, Boy, Roelof and I teamed up to create some code which would automate the no-brainer tasks."

System Requirements:
* Mac 64-bit, OS X 10.10 and up
* Flash disks to copy, external drives to write to
* A dislike of mind-numbing tasks

Pricing and Availability:
Hedge is available to purchase through FastSpring for $15 a month or $150 (USD) for a year outside the EU, or Euro15/Euro150 within the EU. This way EU businesses can get a direct VAT deduction at checkout. Subscriptions can be paused or cancelled at any time. The free version, limited to two simultaneous transfers, is available from the website. A limited number of promo codes are available for the media. Interested journalists should contact Boy van Amstel.
