London, United Kingdom - Veleza is proud to announce the release of Veleza 1.5.9, an important update to their mobile beauty app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The Veleza mobile app enables a community of beauty lovers to get and offer unbiased advice, as well as help members discover products best matching their skin type and personal needs.

Before the launch, thousands of customers in the UK tested the app. The Veleza team collaborated with skin care professionals to develop the system for intelligent cosmetic product matching. Beauty lovers can find what fits their needs best from more than 20,000 cosmetic products available in the app along with detailed product descriptions and user reviews. The app can also help search for cruelty-free products or cosmetics suitable for vegans.

"The pain of choosing a suitable product is widespread. No one had really solved the problem of matching cosmetic products to the individual customer at scale in an accurate and unbiased fashion," says company founder Martynas Nikolajevas.

According to Veleza's customer poll, 79% of skin care product consumers in the UK find it difficult to choose the right product. There is no shortage of great cosmetic products, yet millions of people find it challenging to pick an item matching their personal needs.

Employing more than one million people and worth 17 billion by the end of 2016 the UK beauty industry is in the pink, according to Raconteur. Almost one in four female British consumers shopped for make-up online, according to The Consumer Barometer Survey 2014 / 2015. The Veleza team aims to help customers find suitable items online and on mobile.

Martynas developed the idea to build a cosmetics discovery app while he was working in the beauty services marketplace at Treatwell (formerly Wahanda). He learned that matching beauty products in general, and skin care in particular, is still quite a challenge for both sides of the market - brands as well as consumers.
