AirBeamTV launches wireless Mac screen mirroring to Samsung TVs - Published on 05/20/16

Mac software development company, AirBeamTV today officially announces Mirror for Samsung TV 1.0.1 for Mac OS X. Mirror allows anyone to wirelessly mirror the screen of a Mac computer directly on any Samsung Smart TV, without the need for any additional hardware. Users can even choose whether they would like the audio from their Mac to be transferred to the TV as well. It is ideal for watching movies on a big TV screen instead of the laptop.

Bussum, Netherlands - AirBeamTV, a Mac software development company, today is very pleased to announce the official release of Mirror for Samsung TV 1.0.1 for Mac OS X. Unique in its sort, Mirror is the only application available worldwide with the capability to wirelessly mirror the screen of a Mac computer directly on any Samsung Smart TV, without the need for any additional hardware.

Previously, this functionality was only available to Mac users after they bought an AppleTV with AirPlay technology and connected it to their TV. Or, alternatively, used an HDMI cable to connect their Mac to the TV. Now, with the introduction of Mirror for Samsung TV by AirBeamTV, it is available to all Mac users, without the need to use cables or boxes.

"After launching the application on the Mac, the app will scan your local network for a Samsung Smart TV," explains Demid Borodin, co-founder and Director of Technology. "When your TV is found, with a click of a button, the screen of your Mac is mirrored on TV. You can even choose whether you would like the audio of your Mac to be transferred to your TV as well."

"This is ideal for watching movies on a big TV screen instead of on your laptop," claims Jan van Ottele, co-founder and Managing Director. "Also, during our limited user trials, we had a substantial number of business users who used the app in meetings to share a presentation or spreadsheet with colleagues."

The company is currently working on support for additional TV brands, however launches dates for Sony, Philips, Panasonic and LG Smart TVs cannot be confirmed yet.

What users say (reviews after the soft launch in the US Mac App Store):

Works as promised!: I was skeptical about downloading this app for three reasons: 1) it's new 2) it costs money (and I didn't trust downloading the free trial from a webpage) and 3) all other efforts to mirror my MacBook Pro to my Samsung Smart TV wirelessly have failed. WOW, I'm glad I took a chance! It was SUPER simple. I downloaded the app, clicked install, clicked open (all within the app store) and then the Mirror for Samsung TV button appeared on my menu bar with instructions on how to use it. By the time I clicked on the menu bar, the app had already detected my TV. All I had to do was select it. BAM. Connected.

Amazing!!!: Works great. Thanks for supporting a world free of HDMI cables.

It works!!: I've been looking for a way to screen share my computer to my Samsung smart TV without having to plug into a HDMI cable. Obviously my MacBook Air does not have an HDMI port and I watched several YouTube videos but without any success. This app totally works and I couldn't be happier! I was only just slightly confused when I launched the app because nothing came up. I reread the instructions and looked for the icon at the top of the screen and followed from there. It was so easy and my tv was listed instantly for me to click on. There is a slight delay in transmission from your computer to the TV but that doesn't bother me at all.

System Requirements:
* OS X 10.10 or later
* 64-bit processor
* 2.0 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Mirror for Samsung TV 1.0.1 is $9.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Video category.
