Canterbury, United Kingdom - A small British start-up from Canterbury has big plans to disrupt the dominance of the all-powerful search giants Google and Bing. Established in 2011 by Formula 1 designer turned Internet entrepreneur Michael Blaize, Mic-Apps Ltd recently released Delve Deep Search Engine 4.6, a new mobile app for iPhones and iPads, allowing users to perform in-depth explorations of specific websites.

"Google and Bing handle 98% of Internet searches and they had to adapt their search and indexing techniques to suit the masses. As a result, if someone is looking for the closest shop or the cheapest goods, it is the perfect tool. However, if one is looking for more elaborate information, or looking to research into a specific topic, then the current search engines fall short of finding the right content, hidden deep into specialized websites. Delve offers unique capabilities, whereby users are not searching old indexed content stored on Google or Bing servers, but live information directly from the websites of their choice, digging where the information of interest is actually more likely to be" says Michael Blaize.

Delve Deep Search Engine is not only able to explore specific websites provided by the users, it can also screen several websites in parallel selected from pre-defined categories, including news, sport, music, movies, technology and many others. For example, one can search in parallel, and in one single operation, all top 10 results from Google, Bing or Wikipedia for given keywords, removing the burden of manually looking through many websites one by one, page by page, for the content of interest.

Michael Blaize continues to explain, "Google has indexed a staggering 200TB of data. However, this only represents a mere 0.004% of the entire Internet. Regular search engines only crawl the visible Internet, or surface web using automated bots. Delve puts users in the driving seat and gives them the ability to explore any area of the Internet, meaning even parts that have not yet been indexed or looked at by a regular search engine, finally opening the door to the dark web".

The company has been through a process of optimization of its Delve platform, gradually adding functionalities and refining its search and indexing algorithms. With little marketing, Delve Deep Search Engine downloads have been growing steadily, now handling thousands of searches per month.

Michael Blaize confesses that the current volume of searches performed every day is nothing when compared to the American giants' billions of searches for the same period. However, the company has ambitious plans to bring onboard Universities, Research Laboratories and news channels with the aim to deliver a unique content discovery platform. The company is also putting the final touches to its Android app, and plans to launch a dedicated website in the very near future. This will further accelerate the expansion of the company's active user base.
