DEVONtechnologies LLC releases a completely rewritten version 2.0 of its iOS companion DEVONthink To Go. Version 2.0 brings a much enhanced feature set as well as the next-generation sync introduced with DEVONthink 2.9 on the Mac. Long-awaited features such as full organizing commands, PDF annotations, Markdown support, and a powerful search function rises using DEVONthink databases on the go to a wholly new level. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - DEVONtechnologies LLC today is proud to announce the release of DEVONthink To Go 2.0, an update to its popular iOS companion. DEVONthink To Go 2.0 replaces the aged version 1.5.8 with a brand new app. Version 2.0 was rewritten from scratch to take advantage of current iOS technologies. Its modern foundation makes it more capable, faster, and robust. The upgrade, which is free for all users, brings a completely new user interface and an enhanced feature set. With its next-generation sync users get reliability and unprecedented flexibility.

Synchronizing:
The new sync is based on the same code as DEVONthink for Mac 2.9 or later. It supports direct connections via the local WiFi network as well as synchronizing through Dropbox or any WebDAV server. Preconfigured templates make setting up popular services such as Box, CloudMe, or MagentaCLOUD easy. All connections are encrypted with AES 256 bit for greatest security and privacy.

Especially users with limited storage space on their devices will like the new metadata-only sync mode. It gives full access to database without downloading the actual file contents. DEVONthink To Go 2.0 users can still browse and organize their databases but only download the actual document from a connected Mac, from Dropbox, or a WebDAV server when needed.

Organizing:
With DEVONthink To Go 2.0 users can reorganize their data directly on their iOS device in any way they want. They can move, replicate, duplicate or trash documents as well as group or ungroup them. If needed, users can even convert many documents from one format to another. An icon view allows them to rearrange their items on iPads and iPhone 6(S) Plus using Mac-style drag-and-drop.

Tags are also fully supported, users can create new tags and assign them to documents or groups. The new fast and powerful search offers an advanced search language and returns ranked results instantly. Searches can be restricted to names, document contents, comments, and tags as well as to just the current database or group. User-selectable predefined smart groups list documents by a variety of categories and sorting orders.

Working with documents:
DEVONthink To Go 2.0 vastly improves working with documents of any kind. A new rich text editor makes editing RTFs and formatted notes more comfortable. Version 2.0 allows not only editing of Markdown documents but shows them rendered too. The new PDF engine offers all annotation capabilities needed for professional use. From freehand drawing to traditional sticky notes, everything is there. E-mail messages and tabular data can be viewed in DEVONthink To Go 2.0 now as well.

Finally, version 2.0 makes creating new documents, groups, tags, or databases simple and straightforward. The new document assistant supports also creating voice and video notes and imports images from the iOS image library. An enhanced Clip to DEVONthink share extension imports data from many other apps. Using URLs users can deep link from anywhere into their DEVONthink To Go 2.0 databases.

DEVONthink To Go 2.0 sells for $14.99 (USD) and requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 9.1 or later. For synchronizing with DEVONthink for Mac it requires DEVONthink 2.9 or later.
