WhoDo iPad Generates New Contacts From Keyboard, Clipboard, or Mic - Published on 09/30/19

Oregon-based indie developers, Swamp Dog, LLC announces WhoDo iPad 1.0, their new contact records creator for the iPad. WhoDo iPad creates new contact records directly from raw text. There is no form to fill out, and no text fields to map in order to import the information. Text can be generated by using the keyboard, the clipboard, or the microphone. The app extracts personal data from raw text and automatically converts it into a contact record right on the iPad.

Bend, Oregon - Independent development team, Swamp Dog, LLC is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of WhoDo iPad 1.0, their new app for Apple's iPad. WhoDo iPad automatically creates new contract records directly from raw text. There are no forms to fill out or text fields to map, users can generate the source text by entering it from the iPad keyboard, clipboard, or the device's microphone.

WhoDo iPad combines the power of data detectors, linguistic taggers, speech recognition, and several specialized databases to extract the personal data from raw text and convert it to a contract record directly on the iPad. Users don't even need to launch the WhoDo iPad app. Instead, the users can simply select text in any other app on the iPad and then click the iOS "Share" button, then use provided iOS action extension to create a contact directly inside the "Share" UI.

"In the past, importing contact information into the iPad's Contacts app was tedious, requiring extensive mapping of text fields to properly import the data," says Swamp Dog Managing Member Steve Cronin. "But WhoDo iPad imports the correct information directly from the device's keyboard, clipboard, or microphone."

Users can customize WhoDo iPad actions by:
* Using either Home or Work for labelling data
* Assigning custom text to the contact Note field
* Recording the date & time of creation in the Note field
* Including the source text in the contact Note field
* Capitalizing Names, Job Titles, and Address components
* Assigning a name prefix (Ms or Ms - it uses an onboard Name database)
* Assigning a nickname (equal to first name)
* Assigning a default area code if one is missing from a phone number (US only)
* Optionally removing a user assignable country code from a phone number

In addition to working with the Apple's Contacts app, WhoDo iPad also works with leading cloud-based tools, including: Marketcircle's Daylite, Salesforce, Microsoft's Office 365, and Google's Contacts. WhoDo uses built in OAuth2 capabilities to authenticate with these cloud-based solutions. On first use, users will be prompted to to login to the selected cloud service and grant permission to allow WhoDo to create new contacts. From then on, the app's built-in OAuth2 client submits new contacts with the required authentication.

WhoDo iPad also allows users to set repository-specific options when creating contacts.

Contacts:
* Assign the new contact to an existing Group
* Create and delete Groups
* Create as either a contact or a company

Daylite:
* Assign Category, Keywords, Projects, and Opportunities

Google
* Assign to a Group

Office365
* Assign a Category

Salesforce
* Create as either a Lead or Contact

Swamp Dog offers two methods of licensing Who Do iPad. Options include a one-time purchase, or a subscription model.

Users can make a one-time in-app purchase of a license. Licenses can be purchased either individually for each repository (Apple's Contacts, Marketcircle Daylite, Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, and Google Contacts), or as a single "Pro" license that enables the use of all the repositories as well as any future new repository ($5.99 Apple Contacts, $7.99 each single repository, or $19.99 for the Pro license.)

Subscriptions are also available as in-app purchases. Each subscription is for 3 months. A subscription is available for each of the repositories and there is no limit to the number of active subscriptions allowed. A "Pro" subscription allows access to all currently available repositories, allowing the user to select which repository to use for each new contact creation. Subscription costs are $0.99 each repository, or $2.99 for the Pro subscription.

"We've noticed that 'subscription fatigue' is becoming a real thing with iOS users," shared Steve. "That's why we wanted to provide our customers with both a direct purchase and a subscription option. Users can take advantage of the purchase model that best fits their needs."
