SR2 Solutions Adds Scanning and File Encryption to ActivePrint App - Published on 07/27/20
Texas based company, SR2 Solutions announces ActivePrint 12.4.7, an update to their popular their mobile printing app. Print from iPhone and iPad to any printer. Easily choose between ActivePrint Cloud Printers, Google Cloud Printers, and AirPrint Printers. Version 12.4.7 supports document scanning and easy file encryption. With the addition of these two new features SR2 seeks to make document management better and safer as people work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beaumont, Texas - SR2 Solutions announced the availability of document scanning and easy file encryption for their mobile printing app, ActivePrint, in response to people having to work from home more and more to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. SR2 seeks to enable users to easily convert their paper documents to PDF as well as be able to send them securely to family members and coworkers using strong passwords and full AES-256 Bit encryption.
"Like everyone else in the world, we've been forced to adjust how we do our jobs" said Charles Teel, SR2 Founder and original developer of ActivePrint. "We knew there were two things that was going to be needed by both people in the workplace as well as students. First the ability to digitize their paper documents while working from home. Second was the ability to SECURELY send documents to coworkers, family, or fellow students and teachers. Not everyone keeps a digital scanner in their homes like they used to, and not everyone has easy access to the kind of encryption technology that they need. So that's where we came up with these new features."
With the document scanning feature, users will be able to use the camera built into their iPhone or iPad to scan paper documents of various sizes and have them converted to PDF as a universal document format that can be easily shared or printed. With the system that SR2 has adopted, the software will automatically detect the edges of the paper no matter what angle the user is holding their device at. Users can also adjust between color and black & white, scan resolution, and paper size. After the user has scanned all the pages they then have the option of printing a copy to a compatible printer such as ActivePrint, AirPrint, or Google Cloud Print or they can share the file through email, text message (SMS or iMessage), social media posts, or store it in the preferred cloud storage solution like iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
With the encryption feature, users can safely and securely send a password protected file to anyone. This system creates a unique URL associated with their encrypted file that can be shared with anyone through email, text message (SMS or iMessage), social media posts, or any other platform that they choose. All files are encrypted using the same level of encryption used by banks, healthcare, and the military by using AES 256bit encryption that is locked to the password that the owner of the file provides. Because of the security controls that are put in place not even SR2 Solutions personnel can access the file that is being sent making it ideal for anyone that works in an office where regulatory compliance is required such as the healthcare industry or the financial industry.
