KeyCue 9.8 is ready for macOS Big Sur and offers further enhancements - Published on 10/20/20

Ergonis Software today released KeyCue 9.8, an improved version of the company's highly acclaimed productivity tool. KeyCue is a versatile assistant, which presents frequently used elements on cue, such as keyboard shortcuts, local files and folders, and URL collections. Over time, KeyCue users will automatically remember frequently used shortcuts and start working more efficiently. KeyCue 9.8 is ready for Apple's next big macOS version Big Sur and offers many further enhancements.

Perg, Austria - Ergonis Software today released KeyCue 9.8, an improved version of the company's highly acclaimed productivity tool. Although it's just a minor update, KeyCue 9.8 is yet another milestone in the more than 15 years of development and enhancement of the popular keyboard shortcut cheat sheet - KeyCue 9.8 is ready for Apple's next major macOS version Big Sur, which is expected to launch later this year.

Besides enhancements and tweaks to make KeyCue a first-class citizen on Big Sur, the new version brings a number of other enhancements. Files and folders can be suppressed in the folder view, and in theme definitions, group and menu headings can now have an alignment attribute. Also, in the Folder view, items are now sorted in the same way as in the Finder, in particular when it comes to items that contain numbers. Besides that, KeyCue 9.8 includes fixes and workarounds for user-reported issues and improves compatibility with certain third-party apps. Visit Ergonis Software's website to learn more about the changes in this release and to download and try the new version.

The productivity paradox of keyboard shortcuts is that shortcuts were designed to increase productivity. However, productivity actually decreases when applications provide large numbers of shortcuts, in particular when the shortcuts are defined inconsistently across applications. KeyCue's elegantly simple solution is to display an instant overview of currently available keyboard shortcuts, application-specific menu shortcuts as well as system-wide hotkeys, and user-defined shortcut descriptions. Over time, KeyCue users will automatically remember frequently used shortcuts and start working more efficiently.

In addition to keyboards shortcuts, KeyCue can display an Emoji table (click any Emoji to quickly insert it in the current text), a Folder view table (which serves as a quick launcher for frequently used applications and documents), and a URL table (for frequently used web pages and other links). Users who have Typinator and PopChar installed can also use KeyCue to quickly access Typinator snippets as well as recent and favorite characters from PopChar.

KeyCue has already received many awards, including a 4.5-Mice award from MacWorld magazine.

System Requirements:
KeyCue 9.8 requires Mac OS X Lion (10.7) or newer, is recommended for macOS Catalina (10.15), and is compatible with the current beta versions of macOS Big Sur (11.0).

Availability and Ordering:
KeyCue can be purchased securely on the Ergonis Software website. The upgrade to KeyCue 9.8 is free for anyone who purchased a license for KeyCue on or after October 1st, 2017.
