App Development Company announced as winner in annual Queen's Awards - Published on 04/24/14

London based app development company Therapy Box was announced as a recipient of a Queen's Award for Enterprise (Innovation) in recognition of the life changing iPad apps the team has released. Therapy Box's apps are designed to meet the needs of people with a variety of speech and physical disabilities enabling them to communicate and be more independent. Therapy Box is working to deliver new apps in 2014, including SmartHub - a home automation app for the disability market.

London, United Kingdom - Co-founders Rebecca Bright and Swapnil Gadgil have launched 15 apps to the market in 7 languages all within the specialist markets of disability aids, healthcare and education. The Therapy Box team travels around the UK and internationally providing training on the use of the apps in schools and hospitals.

Former NHS speech and language therapist, Rebecca Bright, works closely with customers to ensure each app helps solve a problem for people who have complex physical and communication disabilities. Swapnil Gadgil, whose former experience in his commercial role at Carphone Warehouse leads the team in delivering groundbreaking apps.

The first app, Predictable, has allowed people with speech disabilities resulting from motor neurone disease or cerebral palsy to be able to type their message and have it communicated to their family and friends. Their latest app, ChatAble, takes symbols and photos to aid communication for children with autism.

"Being recognized with a prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise is a huge honour," explains CEO Swapnil Gadgil. "The team here is thrilled to receive the award as it reinforces the good work we have done over the past few years in building a British tech business. Winning motivates us to continue to deliver affordable apps that make a difference to so many people with disabilities. Hearing how our apps have made someone's life easier is the ultimate feedback."

Therapy Box is working to deliver new apps in 2014, including SmartHub - a home automation app for the disability market, which was funded via the Technology Strategy Board.
