Winnipeg, Canada - Media RendezVous Inc. and Toronto-based Positive Productions Inc. have released their second interactive mobile application as a multi-platform companion to their nationally televised and award-winning children's series Planet ECHO. Now available on the Apple iTunes Store, Dr. Greenie's Magnotronic is an entertaining and educational iPad app starring some of the most popular characters from Planet ECHO.

Currently in post-production on its fourth season, Planet ECHO is a series hosted by Winnipeg brothers, Chuck and Andy Clement. It features environmentally themed stories and comical eco-adventures presented by a cast of funny and wacky characters. The series is currently airing nationally in Canada on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) and will soon be available on Knowledge Network in British Columbia and CITY TV Saskatchewan.

Once again this year, as part of the Canada Media Fund's convergent program, the Planet ECHO production team collaborated with multi-talented Winnipeg-based app developers ID Fusion and the designers at Coelement to create a worthy successor to the team's first iPad application - Dr. Greenie's MadLab. This innovative partnership has not only extended the reach of the Planet ECHO television series, but also provided an entertaining and educational destination for kids to learn about the wonders of our planet and the importance of nurturing it. The result of this year's endeavour is the recently released iPad application Dr. Greenie's Magnotronic.

Dr. Greenie's Magnotronic is a free interactive app that follows the adventures of Planet ECHO's loveable mad scientist and his lab friends. The app is comprised of a 12-minute appisode, Animal Magnetism, a story that once again pits Dr. Greenie and his pals against their nemesis the Skink. The app also features an interactive runner game connected to the appisode narrative, through which players are able to accumulate achievements and stickers they can use to build their own virtual MadLab.

Chuck Clement, Executive Producer of Media RendezVous Inc. and host of Planet ECHO emphasized, "Planet ECHO has created a loyal fan base among kids and their parents by using multiple platforms and games to engage them wherever they might be watching from and we're so excited that Dr. Greenie's Magnotronic will continue to enrich their learning experience by allowing them to interact with their favourite characters in a more fun and personal way."

Planet Echo was once again honoured last year by the Parent's Choice foundation as a recommended program in their annual Children's Media and Toy Review. It was the second consecutive year the program has earned that recognition. Christopher Greaves, Executive Producer of Positive Productions Inc. remarked, "Planet Echo and all its digital extensions like Dr. Greenie's Magnotronic have been conceived with the aim of becoming world class children's entertainment and educational products created right here in Canada!"
