Ashland, Oregon - The developers of the award-winning Art Authority app line has announced improvements to the 70,000-work virtual museum that is at the heart of Art Authority for iPad. Version 4.9.2 of the app, available immediately, includes upgrades to each of the app's nine period-specific rooms, further enhancing both the functional and immersive experience of the app.

Many of the museum rooms have new adornments and wallpaper, with subtle but engaging 3D motion effects added under iOS 7. Each room now also includes a directory with advanced search capability, enabling searches by title, subject, and location within the specific period displayed in the room. So, for instance, patrons can now view just the Renaissance works from the Louvre Museum, or just Baroque works that show angels.

Art Authority for iPad is the only iPad Reference app named to both of Apple's Rewind "best of" lists. It brings 70,000 high-resolution classic works of art to users' fingertips. Hailed as "an experience unlike any other" and "visually dazzling," the app (along with its K-12 age-appropriate edition) professionally displays paintings and sculptures by over 1000 major western artists from ancient times through current-day. Art Authority for Macintosh and iPhone bring similar functionality to these devices.

Art Authority is the product of an innovative collaboration between two separate software companies, Open Door Networks and Project A. Art Authority's mission is the design, development and deployment of the best ways for users to experience art on their modern-day devices.
