Dive into the bizarre and exciting world of Birgitte Berteldatter, eccentric explorer and adventurer extraordinaire! Her field journal has finally been published, releasing her astounding discoveries to the waiting world. Slightly confused that these beasts only seem to appear to Birgitte, she makes notes and sketches of all the fantastic creatures she finds on her adventures, where the Rolling Beagle knows no fear, the Urban Flox will nibble your socks, and a trick to befriending the beautiful but rather pompous Royal Crested Tiger is to give him sherbet.

This delightful appbook is read by Sandi Toksvig, representing the first time the two sisters have ever worked together creatively, adding extra excitement to the project. With Sandi voicing Birgitte Berteldatter, her familiar tone and comic timings bring Jenifer's narrative and artwork to life as she takes the reader on a uniquely crafted experience.

Box Of Frogs Media have provided production management, art services (interpretation and animation), technical build and is the publisher of the series on behalf of Jenifer. About Jenifer Toksvig:
Jenifer Toksvig was born in New York, grew up in England, and feels very at home in Denmark. As a writer of musicals, she's written many original stories and adaptations for young people to perform, including: The Curious Quest for the Sandman's Sand, Skool & Crossbones, Shake, Ripple & Roll, Pandemonium! (a Greek Myth-adventure) and The Nutcracker with composer David Perkins; Terry Pratchett's Mort with composer Dominic Haslam; The Queen of Snow and Geraldine McCaughrean's The Stones Are Hatching with composer Alexander Rudd. In other work, with her company The Copenhagen Interpretation, Jenifer explores the crossover world of theatre and gaming, experimenting with new ways for audiences to engage with live and transmedia performance.

One of these explorations is an adaptation of Sandi Toksvig's novel Hitler's Canary. Jenifer also makes work in collectives of creative friends. Such tribal work includes The Chaosbaby Project and Seeing Red. She's a keen proponent of Open Space Technology, is a member of every union and support group going, and a keen advocate for the rights of writers, and opportunities for the support and development of new work, especially in facilitating the taking of risks, and advancement of the form of musical theatre in particular, and storytelling in general. In her spare time, of which there is none, Jenifer likes to knit, loves gatherings of loved ones for Sunday lunch, and really wants a dog.

About Sandi Toksvig:
Sandi Toksvig began her education in New York, and later attained a First Class honours degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at Girton College, Cambridge. At Cambridge she was awarded the Theresa Montefiore Memorial Award for outstanding academic achievement. She appeared in a variety of Footlights shows and was the director and writer of, and a performer in the first all-female Cambridge Revue. Theatre credits include seasons with the Nottingham Playhouse and the New Shakespeare Company at Regents Park, and in The Pocket Dream, which she also co-wrote, at the Albery Theatre, London, and the musical Big Night Out with songs by Dillie Keane.

Television credits include No 73 (TVS), Behind the Headlines, The Big One with Mike McShane, Have I Got News for You, Island Race with John McCarthy, Whose Line is it Anyway? and Call My Bluff. Sandi was one of the original members of the Comedy Store Players. Sandi appears on many Radio 4 programmes and is the presenter of the travel programme Excess Baggage and chair of The News Quiz. In 2007 she was voted Broadcaster of the Year by the Broadcast Press Guild and Channel 4 Political Humorist of the Year. She has written 18 books, and regular columns for the Sunday Telegraph and Good Housekeeping. She is currently chancellor of Portsmouth University, and was recognised with an OBE in the 2014 New Year honours list.
