London, United Kingdom - Coda 2.5's recent departure from the Mac App Store has again fueled debate in the Mac development community over sandboxing and selling outside of the MAS. In response, Paddle has seized on the opportunity to target developers looking to start selling outside of the Mac App Store, with a reduced tariff and a raft of significant new features.

Paddle is now cheaper than its main rival FastSpring, charging 5% + 50c per transaction. Responding to developer feedback, Paddle has also released a unique, integrated in-app purchase (IAP) solution, delivering a simple way for users to upgrade post trial or to buy bolt-on features in- app. Paddle has also made its suite of tools 'self-serve', meaning it's even quicker and more intuitive for developers/creatives to start selling any type of digital product. "This is a game changer for anyone who wants to go freemium outside the MAS," said Paddle CTO, Josh Swanson.

Aiming to deliver a seamless checkout experience akin to that of the MAS, Paddle has developed an 'overlay checkout' that converts 70% of customers in the checkout process - double the industry average [1]. Paddle said the improvements translated into a rise of 18% in vendor sales, in the week since launch. This and other metrics are shown in graphical detail in a real-time dashboard provided to each seller, which has received some great feedback from developers.

"...the new vendor's panel - it's amazing!" - Krystof, Charlie Monroe Software

Alongside its B2B services, Paddle also offers the consumer a neat digital cloud Locker, in which to store all their digital content. The Paddle Locker also powers discovery, recommending products based on a consumer's previous purchases and preferences.

"Locker discovery is a fantastic service for both our business and consumer customers. We're passionate about helping people find their next favourite app or creative resource, as well as helping developers get their apps, and content in front of more potential customers - its a win-win for everyone." - Paddle CEO, Christian Owens.

Paddle offers a suite of self-serve tools for developers and creators to sell software, games, eBooks, courses, music, creative resources and videos.

Key business tools include:
* Checkout Overlay Checkout
* Integrated in-app and in-game purchases
* Licensing/ Registration/ DRM
* Trial Demo Versions
* Analytics & Reports

Paddle's overlay checkout is highly converting and that's one of the key reasons why designers, developers and digital vendors are looking to Paddle to power their digital sales. The Paddle checkout also ties in seamlessly with existing license mechanisms.

As well as providing an awesome array of business services, Paddle also offers the consumer a neat digital cloud Locker, in which to store all their digital content. The Paddle Locker also powers discovery, recommending products based on a consumer's previous purchases and preferences.
