Chili Fish - a Creative App for Children - Published on 01/15/15

The European company, ChiliKids announces Chili Fish for iOS devices, a new app that allows children to create an infinite number of possible fish. By engaging their imaginations, children can paint, stamp, and shape new fish every time they play. Once they've made their unique fishy friends, kids can explore the underwater kingdom, interact with corals and fish, feed their creations, and discover the unique personalities of their aquatic companions.

Malaga, Spain - The European company ChiliKids is pleased to release Chili Fish, a new app that allows children to create an infinite number of possible fish. By engaging their imaginations, children can paint, stamp, and shape new fish every time they play. Once they've made their unique fishy friends, kids can explore the underwater kingdom, interact with corals and fish, feed their creations, and discover the unique personalities of their aquatic companions.

By allowing children to explore an open-ended, underwater environment in which they are in control, Chili Fish has already been a hit with test groups. Chili Fish is a "sandbox" app, meaning that children are not given a goal, as in traditional games, but rather are encouraged to create their own environment. They can create unique fish by selecting body parts, colors, or even stamps.

Every fish also has its own personality and tastes, and children can interact with the fish by feeding them or hatching new eggs. This variety of possibilities has been appealing to children, who enjoy molding their own worlds, and Chili Fish has the research to back it up.

Nea Bautista, CEO of ChiliKids states, "We have performed extensive research on the app. Independent research teams and pedagogues at both the University of Malaga, Spain and the University of Stockholm, Sweden have tested the app for its ability to engage children and encourage learning. Both universities have concluded that Chili Fish is effective in its aim."

In addition to pedagogical approval, Chili Fish has earned the badge of approval among real-life children, who have been given the opportunity to test the app in their schools. Reception to the app has been positive, and children become highly engaged and active while playing.

Parents will be happy to know that Chili Fish is a safe app for children; there are no advertisements or in-app purchases, so children can't accidentally spend their parents money or be led off onto a random website.

At Chilikids, we make creAPPtivities: creative digital activities that encourage children to learn through creative and imaginative play experiences. The company was founded in October 2013 by a group of international professionals with extensive experience in the mobile industry, arts and pedagogy. We teamed up with both Stockholm University in Sweden and Malaga University in Spain to thoroughly test our creapptivities on children. The open-ended nature of our apps, as well as the highly interactive environment, motivates children to learn. Plus, our apps are safe and secure. Parents don't have to worry about their child accidentally making an in-game purchase or tapping on an ad that takes them away from our apps. All Material and Software (C) Copyright 2015 Chilikids.
