Liveware Media announces the release of AmericaAlerts for iPad 2.0, an important update of their popular full spectrum weather app. The app offers weather warnings, as well as detailed information on earthquakes and tsunamis. An easy to use interface offers several options, filters, and settings. The update brings a new user interface, talking notifications with bearing, and several global weather map layers including temperature, snow, wind, and pressure.

Sebastopol, California - Liveware Media is proud to announce the release of AmericaAlerts for iPad 2.0, an important update of their popular full spectrum weather app. Users interested in weather warnings for the United States and detailed information on earthquakes or tsunamis have to traverse several apps to get up to date warnings and information. With AmericaAlerts for iPad, anyone can get all of those features in one place along with talking push notifications. The app will literally tell users when there is a weather warning and if there has been an earthquake or tsunami. Additionally, the app features several mapping layers with an easy to use interface containing several options, filters, and settings.

Weather:
* Receive talking notifications with distance and bearing
* NWS Base Reflectivity layer for map
* Several global weather layers for map (beta) from OpenWeatherMap

Earthquakes:
* Receive talking notifications with magnitude, distance, depth, and bearing
* Sort and filter by magnitude, distance, and depth
* Tectonic plates layer for map
* Active volcanoes layer for map
* Nuclear reactors layer for map
* Store up to 1,000 events

Tsunamis:
* Receive talking notifications with magnitude, level, distance, and bearing
* Sort and filter by magnitude, level, and distance
* Tectonic plates layer for map
* Active volcanoes layer for map
* Nuclear reactor layer for map
* Store up to 1,000 events

The app uses the National Weather Service (NWS) as the source for weather warnings, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as the source for earthquake events, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) as the source for tsunami events. Users can choose their location and monitor different locations for different alerts. Liveware Media uses servers to monitor the sources on a minute by minute basis for any reported warnings or events.

Pricing and Availability:
AmericaAlerts for iPad 2.0 is $1.99, and is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Weather category. An Android version of the application is currently under development and slated to be available by early next year.
