New York, New York - Available in the App Store, Spottible 2.0 is an easy way to record, share, and explore places and maps with friends, online and offline for over 200 cities worldwide. The app features a simplified user interface plus new features that help friends collaborate on trips. As in previous versions, places in Spottible are private by default. With the latest release, travelers can also plan trips with friends, share spots through email, or post trips to Facebook.

"Today, we're releasing a new, social version of Spottible, with features designed to help travelers collaborate on trips", said Michael Galvez, founder. "Let's say you're traveling to Madrid with a friend. Create your trip on Spottible, and add a spot for your hotel. Share your trip with your friend, who can add restaurants, bars, and other spots to visit in Madrid. Before you hit the road, download free, offline maps for your trip. When you land, turn off data on your mobile. Explore Madrid without paying roaming fees - your places and maps are fully offline. Use Spottible to record new spots you find in Madrid. When you're back online - at your hotel or at home - share your trip through email or by posting to Facebook."

As with previous versions of Spottible, travelers organize places by collection. Travelers can keep their collections private, or they can give friends permission to edit or view places in their collections. Users view spots on a map, in a photo gallery, or on a calendar to review trips. International travelers download places and maps to their devices, so they can navigate foreign cities without a data connection.

To help first-time users get started, Spottible 2.0 features a new setup wizard and contextual help. In addition, the latest version allows travelers to sign up using their Facebook accounts.

Spottible was designed by passionate travelers who prefer word-of-mouth recommendations over guidebooks and strangers' reviews online. We thought: since we take photos with smartphones - both at home and on the road - why not automatically tag and organize the places we visit? And when we're overseas, why not make both maps and places available offline? And for those who prefer not to automatically share places with a few hundred 'friends', why not let users control their privacy? As a result, Spottible automatically tags places you add on your mobile phone. It works completely offline. Its places and collections are private by default, with options to share with your friends or, if you prefer, with everyone. Spottible was started in January 2013 in New York City.
