Looking for a Flappy Bird alternative? Rocket Caveman - Published on 03/14/14

Nevada based Hullabu Inc has announced Rocket Caveman 1.01, its new game title for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It's the stone age and you are the first caveman to discover fire, right? May you be the boldest, gassiest Caveman in history. After a particularly gassy dinner you begin tinkering with your new friend, fire. Sadly, with little control, you probably won't be able to share this new found technology with your friends of the future.

Las Vegas, Nevada - Hullabu creates a Flappy Bird style game in a day. Sure, maybe Rome wasn't built in a day, but Rocket Caveman was! Using some old art the team had laying around and our Unity code base, they developed Rocket Caveman. It took no more than 24 hours.

It was business as usual in the Hullabu office, until they all got that frightful notice, "Flappy Bird is being Shut Down!" The team recalls how ridiculous it was that the game would be taken down by its owner. He had stumbled on something great and in no time at all it was a hit.

Hullabu team members did what everyone did - found a clone! None met up to the teams expectations. Last Monday, Robert Adams, the team's founder, found an email in his inbox, "check this out." "It turns out that our lead programmer, in a day, during his free time on the weekend, built this game. We all loved it, gave some feedback, and I launched it the next day!"

The game, Rocket Caveman, though nowhere near the success of Flappy Bird, is currently seated in the #3 position in the Action section of the Apple App Store. It's also highly rated so far on Google Play Store.

The team is best known for making deep and engaging story-based games. This was a nice retreat from that, and the team is happy to see it growing in success. "I think what surprises me the most is just how much our friends and family have really stuck with it for the last week! I regularly get text messages and Facebook messages ranting and raving about the leaderboard." explains Robert. "It's almost comical how much attention it's getting, given we spent a day on it."
