Help Fearless Bob Save His Friends in New Arcade-Style Adventure for iOS - Published on 05/09/14

Windgrass Games has released Fearless Bob 1.0, a fun and challenging arcade game for iOS devices. Featuring 30 levels, players help Fearless Bob save his friends who have been kidnapped by Harold the Hungry Monster. Using a "flick-and-swipe" technique, players help Fearless Bob avoid obstacles and smash cages to free his friends with each level progressively becoming more difficult. Integrated with social media and Game Center, players can compete against and issue challenges to friends.

Melbourne, Australia - Windgrass Games has released Fearless Bob 1.0, their fun, challenging, and enjoyably destructive arcade game for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch devices. Players must help Fearless Bob save his friends who have been kidnapped by Harold the Hungry Monster. The goal of each level is to help Fearless Bob smash the cages to free his friends, avoiding deviously-placed hazards, and destroy anything that stands between Bob and his friends. Since Bob loses health each time he cannons into obstacles or structures, the player must smash the cage before Fearless Bob's health runs out. Luckily, Fearless Bob thrives on destruction and regains a little bit of health every time he smashes an object that dares block his path.

"If you dig physics puzzlers, this game is a must-play," says Tucker Cummings of Tapscape (24 Apr 2014). "I'm a huge fan of this genre of game, and Fearless Bob is a good example of what makes this genre so much fun."

Feature Highlights:
* Fun and challenging single-screen puzzler game
* Easy-to-navigate User Interface
* Cute and colorful characters
* 30 Levels
* 6 unique environments
* Addictive and simple flick-and-swipe gameplay
* Challenge friends through social media
* Facebook and Twitter-integrated
* Game Center-enabled

Fearless Bob features 30 levels of gameplay with 6 unique environments. As the game progresses, each level becomes more challenging for the player to negotiate. The cages are stronger and the hazards and structures that must be avoided or smashed are more difficult to overcome. Additionally, the different obstacles (i.e. stones, glass, wood planks, barrels, and crates) shatter dynamically into little pieces so the gameplay is different each time.

Fearless Bob uses a gameplay mechanic based on the "flick football" style of game. Essentially, players "flick" Fearless Bob into the air with a single swipe. The curve of the swipe determines the amount of spin and curve applied. This simple gameplay technique allows players to approach levels with a range of strategies, be it deftly and artfully curling Bob past obstacles, or simply opting for the smash-and-bash method.

"As I approached each new level of Fearless Bob myself, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the app definitely lived up to its claims," reports Marilyn Chau of The iPhone App Review (23 Apr 2014). "Swiping was pretty addictive, and the puzzles were challenging enough that I felt excited to try each new one."

At the conclusion of each level, Fearless Bob posts stats including the number of stars earned, the number of flicks used to complete the level, the number of objects destroyed, the health percentage, and final score earned. Fearless Bob includes social media integration so players can share their high scores on Facebook and Twitter. The app is also Game Center-enabled with two leaderboards so players can view their high scores total and overall global rank. They can also receive and issue challenges from friends to beat their scores and earn achievements.

"I've always found the flick-football games incredibly fun to play," admits Glenn Hill, owner of Windgrass Games. "I was inspired by that game mechanic to create a fun, new kind of arcade-style adventure game with cute characters. Users play as Fearless Bob who must avoid the zappers, curve past the spinning gloves, fly through the pipes and smash his way through planks and structures to destroy the cages and save his friends. The full game with advertising is free to download and play but players can remove all ads for a one-time in-app purchase. Fearless Bob is simply an addictive, fun-to-play arcade app with colorful cartoon characters and plenty of challenging gameplay."

* 37.2 MB
